The Woodwind family has many insturments, such as The Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, English Horn, Clarinet, E-Flat Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon and Contrabassoon.
Why are they named The 'Woodwind' Family?
They are named the Woodwind family because they were originally made from wood.
What is their role?
The smaller instruments, such as the Piccolo, play very high pitches. The bigger instruments, such as the Contrabassoon, play very low pitches.
