These are some tips on how to play your Clarinet, and get rid of almost all the squeaks.
1. Make sure that your reed, the wooden piece on the mouth piece, is nice and wet. If you play with a dry Reed, it could crack, or make some squeaks. While setting up your Clarinet, you could keep the reed in your mouth.
2. Make sure all of the pieces are on right, no cork showing, all pieces connected. If they aren't, then there could be squeaks again, and if you are playing, some pieces could fall off if not on right.
3. Fold your bottom lip, and bite down on it. This will make the sound much more clear. Also, for the mouth piece, put it in your mouth about half way down the reed
4. When playing, make sure your fingers are completely on the notes so it doesn't sound wrong.
5. Tongue your notes, that way the notes will be more clear than if you breathe your notes.
6. When the conductor counts you in, make sure to take a deep breath before playing. Think of your body as a balloon, filling your whole body with air, every time you take a breath.
